Our Services

Supported Living

Supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independently — in their own homes, in their own way, with the right support around them.

More than just a place to live

Supported Living is about independence, having your own home, choice and belonging. Each person we support has their own tenancy — a place that is genuinely theirs. We provide personalised support that fits around them: from a few hours a week, to around-the-clock care, depending on individual needs.

We work closely with families, Social Workers and local authorities to make sure the right support is in place — and that it changes as people grow and their needs evolve.

Is Supported Living right for you?

Supported Living at Kisharon Langdon is for adults who:

  • Have a learning disability, autism, or both
  • Are ready to live, or already live, in their own home in the community
  • Have — or are applying for — a care package through their local authority
  • Want a Jewish environment and community connections built into their daily life

Your route into Supported Living

Access to Supported Living is through your Social Work team. Here is what the journey typically looks like:

1
Contact your Social Worker

Your Social Worker is the starting point. They will assess your needs and help apply for a care and support package from your local authority.

2
Get a care package in place

Once a package is agreed, your Social Worker will look at suitable providers. You can request Kisharon Langdon as your preferred provider.

3
Meet our team

We arrange visits so you and your family can meet our team, see our properties, and ask any questions before any decisions are made.

4
Move in and settle in

We work carefully on transition — making sure the move feels comfortable and that your support is right from day one.

What daily life looks like

No two people's experience is the same — and that is the point. Support plans are built around what matters most to each person: their routines, interests, relationships and goals.

Day-to-day life might include:

  • Support with cooking, cleaning and household tasks
  • Getting to work, volunteering, or community activities
  • Staying connected to family, friends and synagogue
  • Personal care, where needed
  • Managing money and appointments with confidence
  • Celebrating Shabbat, Chagim and Jewish life

FAQs

How much does Supported Living cost, and who pays?

Costs are met through a combination of Housing Benefit (covering the rent) and a funded care package from the individual's local authority. Most people do not pay for support directly — this is arranged through their Social Worker and local authority. We are happy to talk you through how this works for your specific situation.

Where are Kisharon Langdon's supported living properties?

Our properties are located across North London and Manchester, within the Jewish community we serve. We do not publish specific addresses online, but can share more information when you make an enquiry through your Social Worker or contact us directly.

Can families be involved?

Yes — families are a vital part of the picture. We work closely with families throughout the transition process and ongoing support. Families are always welcome to raise questions or concerns with our team.
